I figure the dealer is the safest place if you can pay outrageously high prices. My dealer, though, seems to want a VIN for each and every part I need....and since I'm building a motor from scratch, pretty much, it's gonna be quite tough to find parts from him. It's just a simple D16Z6 that I'm building for a daily driver using what I THINK is a '95 case.....never did get any answers on the block code question I asked. I thought about Autozone, Majestic Honda (HondaAutomotiveParts.com), and Import Performance.net. The guy at Autozone thought I'd be better off at either of those 2 places since the things I'm ordering aren't normally stocked anyway.

I need a new set of main bearings, head gasket set with valve seals, and piston rings. I can't tell if the rings are sold in one set per piston or sold in a set for all 4 pistons....and of course they're all closed now so I can't call anyone. Some folks think that all main bearings are equal so you can just buy a standard set if your block isn't bored over. I'm thinking that the block stampings and crank stampings mean just a bit more than that so I want to match up the color code exactly. In which case, my stampings would seem to indicate that I need 4 GREEN, 2 PINK, and 4 BROWN bearings (BACBC on the block and 32333 on the crank). I was leaning towards Majestic because they're the only ones selling the color coded bearings.

Am I being a bit too **** or is that what you'd do too? Thanks for looking!

I use Majestic all the time. Screw going to the local dealer.

But yes, stick with OEM for bearing and rings.

D16Z6 came out of the 92-95 Ex/Si chassis.
