1997 Civic - CEL for Throttle Control?
I just bought my ek and it started acting up last night. it has 156xxx miles on it. When i leave it to throttle it starts to rev between 1500 and 2000 rpms. when i drive it, it shacks when pulling of in first and second gear. then it pops out of gear. The engine feels hotter than usual but the thermometer says its fine. Check the ECL and found out it has something to do with throttle control. i think the unusual idle means it was trying to compensate for something. Any suggestions? thx

Check for vacuum and intake air leaks. If none is found, cover the throttle body port leading to the IACV with your finger. Does this stop the fluctuating/high idle?
