Where Can I find a Resonator Locally?
I know kteller has them, but I wanna pickup one locally cause I need it fast.
I need one with 2.5'' inlet/outlet diameter piping, 22inches long.
Midas does not have them. What other places should I try?

What…..Midas does not have one?? Were in the hell do you live that a muffler shop like Midas would not have such a universal part in stock? I guarantee you any muffler shop in Madison would have a standard part like that.

"No, we don't have anything THAT big"
lol
I'm sure some stock exhausts come 2.5'' right?

Yes, I can assure you some cars have exhaust with piping that size.. But ofcourse a Honda isn't going to have it. Someone has to have a resonator that size around your area.

It's even in Racing red!!

Now, does this muffle sound as well/better/worse than a resonator? How will it hold up under the car? Is it strong/fragile?
It's only $26 so it's something that I'll look into further.
Help me out Troy.

My magnaflow resonator is the same thing. A fiberglass baffled straight through glasspack muffler. My dad runs the thrush glasspacks on his antique cars. Alone they are loud as **** but with muffler added they mellow everything out. He has never had any blow the packing out but they are just weekend cars. Some of the other resonators on the market use steel wool instead of the fiberclass. They probably last longer. The thrushes are pretty heavy steel. I don't see a problem unless they bottom out really hard.

One other thing:
How much would this kill power on a TSRM exhaust compared to just straight piping in the area that it would take up?
Does a resonator kill power?

Re: Where Can I find a Resonator Locally? (litterbox)
Before you do anything else, you need to consider what a resonator is... it's a hollow pipe that's larger than the other piping in your car. It's function is to cancel resonant frequencies. You'd have to make it a study and calculate the correct measurements (length and diameter) to get any great returns. Just take a piece of 3.5" pipe and put two 2.5" reducers on it. If you don't like 3.5, use 4 or 3 (or 5) inch pipe. It is not magic, you will not see any HP gains, you can make it less raspy.

Well, ur, yes. Or if your engine sounds good, don't worry about it.
Unless you are running 15k and/or have otherwise, limited exhaust performance (that resonant tuning might help), it just tunes the exhaust note. You don't have the bucks to do it right (unless you have good buddies inside Honda).

Re: Where Can I find a Resonator Locally? (litterbox)
A resonator uses reflected pulses (reflecting off the inner surfaces of the resonator) to reduce the effect of entering pulses from the motor (sound or pressure).
Since you have radically modified the OEM design (bigger pipe), you can't rely on the original resonator specs to get that little performance gain. Honda has spent big bucks mass-producing its sound and (did I say little?) hp-peak. Resonant performance gains via a resonator are very small (tuned headers do much more).
Unless you have the engineering resources to analyze exhaust flow and then, by seat of your pants or a flow-dynamics study, develop a functional resonator, the best you may be able to do is make it sound sweeter.
