Superchargers are not really good option for small civic engine ... Turbochargers on the other hand are ... even for SOHC ... but both of options will require little bit more OMAR in you than you seam to have right now ...

Then what kinda turbo do you suggest Mike, because I know if I buy a turbo I'll be wanting to buy upgrades and all that for it so could you just go ahead and give me a site with a bunch of turbos for my stock *** motor. Or do you suggest I get an engine swap, I was planning on doing that but could someone find me a motor that would run on my automatic ex without f'ing up

Sounds like you wouldn't know what to do if you had all the parts in your hands. I'd get a turbo kit like Edelbrock or Greddy (type in greddy.com or edelbrock.com) and have a reputable shop install and tune it. First, switch to manual. Your automatic tranny won't hold up.

Just so you know, you will have nothing but headaches, We just finished a Jackson Racing on a 95 EX with a SOHC, (5 speed) Clearance is non-exhistance, had problems arcing on the alternator, no room to do anything etc etc. I would never do it again! Plus your automatic probsbly wouldnt last too long

I know my friend just told me something similar. I am looking at turbo's right now but would you know a place where I get my automatic switched to manual, somewhere in the Chicago land area please.

It's a pretty straightforward swap. If you have the tools you can do it yourself.

If your car is stock sell it and buy a manual. If you're attached to it, buy the parts and do it yourself or pay a local to do it. A shop will charge you out the ***.

You should be able to peice together all the parts for a turbo setup for under $1500 with a tune.

That's what I thought, lol... To do it with the brands/companies I want, completely, it'll cost me ~$3,000 with tuning.. But you can do it for much cheaper, yes.

And usually, the words good and cheap don't mix.

Everyone hear likes to tell you that you can do extreme things to your car for almost nothing. Not true!!! If you really want to do a manual swap, and decent turbo kit, plan on spending at least $7000 on parts and labor (it doesn't seem like you're up for the challenge of doing it yourself). Of course, it can be done much cheaper, but only experienced builders will know what to look for, and where to get the parts.

If you want a fast car, but can't do the work yourself, you should buy a car that was boosted from the factory. It's a lot cheaper to get an extra 50hp out of an 87 Supra Turbo than your automatic civic.

x2!!!! i got my auto to manuel swap + JDM itr swap done for wayyyyy less than that!!

Think about it: ~$3000 for basic turbo kit, fuel system, and misc. parts, $600 easy for chipped manual ecu and tune, $400 - $500 for manual tranny, shift linkage, etc., $500 exhaust (pointless to boost a civic with stock exhaust), $2000 labor. **** adds up. All that, and his car would still be slow! You have to go all out, and know what you're doing to make good power out of a civic, even a boosted one.

You guys are way more experienced than he is. No doubt your mods will end up costing way less. You save a lot of money by knowing what you're looking for and what you're doing.

i didnt do my swap...i only paid $900 in labor for both the tranny swap + motor
