Where can I buy a D16Z6 oil pan?
whats up guys, I'm not new to building fast custom cars but I just picked up my first Honda. I have been building VW's for 15 years or so and have also built alot of American cars, mainly 50s and 60s customs. That being said I know my way around mechanics pretty well but the honda thing is new. I just got a 95 Civic Si hatch back with alot of tastefull mods and so far i have not found to many things that where put together like crap. the one issue I have at the moment is that the car is pretty low on Skunk2 coilovers and looks super good to me but I'm guessing the previous owner didnt know how to drive a lowered car because the bottom of the oil pan is F#^$ed and it seems to be leaking from all sides. I have not made any friends that have connections with Honda parts yet so I guess I am looking for some help on getting a new pan for my car. It has the stock D16Z6, if any has one or knows of a good place to get one any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can either buy a OEM oil pan and baffle it yourself if necessary (depending on your application). Or you can also use a Moroso oil pan. The problem with Moroso is I think they are doing most of their oil pan for a B-series engine.
I'm not sure but I think a D-series doesn't suffer as much as a B-series about oil starvation. Maybe someone can validate that?
I use a Moroso baffled oil pan on my B engine. Quality is good. The only thing is the ports on each side of the pan that are leaking. I'm not too sure what they are use for be I have to re-sealed them.
Good luck in your research!

The one thing you can do right now is to just drain your car, and pop out the oil pan and place it on a block of wood and pound out the dents. Buy a new oil pan seal and put it back in. If it's just dented and only leaking from where it seals then it could be just the rubber seal. Put cheap oil in first to test and see if it starts leaking again.

Re: Where can I buy a D16Z6 oil pan?
^Thanks I PM'd him. I starting to think I might have a bigger problem than just the pan seal. The tranny has a lot of oil driping from it to and im starting to think my rear main seal might be the big problem. Do those motors have a multi piece main or do I have to drop the tranny and pull the flywheel to get to it?

You need to drop the transmission to change the rear main seal. As for the oil pan you can buy them aftermarket, or try to find a used OEM pan. D15B7/D15B8 are also the same. You can't normally pound the dents out because of the baffle in the pan.

A bad oil pan leak on the right side can be easily mistaken for a rear main seal leak. Replace the oil pan and gasket and then go from there.

That was going to be my plan of attack, just have to find a pan that doesnt cost a arm ad a leg. I guess i might not even need to change the pan if the sealing surface isnt to bent up. i need to just pull it of and check it out.
