Where to buy a Civic quarter panel?
I need a left rear quarter panel for my sister's 5th gen. coupe...
Does anyone know where I can get one and how much they run for?
Can anyone give me an online company or San Diego, CA local company name of a place I can get one..?
And how easy is it to replace? Never had to remove that thing before..
Thanks..
And I guess I should post this in a couple of other relevant forums..

damnit I dont know any websies. I went to a few when I was lookign for a rear quartr pnel extension for my coupe. Search on google. I cant remember for the life of me any sites...
edit just searched for ya...try these
1)www.car-parts.com
2)www.hondaautobodypartstore.com
3)http://www.autobodypartsgo.com/honda...ody-panel.html
as far as difficulty...no clue. I am not a body man, so other than removing a bumper, I am clueless.

Re: Where to buy a Civic quarter panel? (R_EG)
i bought mine at the local Honda dealer...i'm sure all the discount online OEM dealers may have it a little cheaper, but keep in mind shipping will probably be expensive,so it may be about the same.
replacing it will have to be handled by a body shop.the old qurter has to be cut off,and the new one welded on.i believe it cost me about $300 labor.

I think I can handle the labor, given an exploded view of the chassis
But how much does the actual part cost?
Thanks for the help, btw.

here's something i found.
part #2 that is basically the whole quarter, except from the rub strip down sells for $350 on this site,Majestic Honda.i looked back at my old receipts, and i paid $399 for this at my local dealer.
i'm not sure how much of an area you're trying to replace, but i thought Honda sold a patch panel that looked like part #2,but it didn't include the B or C pillar.now i can't find that anywhere.
here's alink to that page.you can click on the part numbers and it'll give you a price:

I hope you realize the rear quarter panal is not "bolted on." It is factory welded onto the rest of the frame by about 200 robotic welders each spotting and some seam welding... you'll have to cut, weld, repaint and be sure its all alligned nice and pretty so your sister doesn't blame you for ******* up the car worse than it already is.

i think the only place you can really get your hand on is at the local junk yard..and this is a "body shop" requires..meaning that there is a certain way that you will have to cut the 1/4 panel and reweld it back on..i have done with one before when i use to do custome body work..i not too sure if the dealer still carry it or you have to special it..but that gonna be too damn much..just go to the local yard and look for a good panel and have them cut it out to your spec...

of course the dealer doesn't stock this part, but they can order it and have it in a week.i bought a quarter panel, and a bunch of other body panels from my local dealer......i wouldn't be so sure a junkyard piece would be better.usually they'll overcut the panel(cut way more off the donor ca rthan needed,to insure you get everything you need).you have to keep in mind that it will require extra body shop labor to get the used panel in usable shape.junkyard prices can't be beat on bolt-on body parts(front fenders, bumper, etc.),but this part might not be worth it.not to mention that 99% of junkyard body panels are going to require some bodywork to get straight.if you're doing the labor yourself,it might be worth it.when i got my OEM quarter, door skin and front fenders, they were all perfectly straight, and the quarter required no work-ready to weld right on with no prep after removing the old quarter.
