if you havce an older throttle body........there is a sensor that is underneath it........sometimes bolted to the intake manifold......(on older first gen b16's) take the plate off of the sensor.......or the cap......and tighten the little fitting inside, it's basially a thermostat, and it sometimes backs off causing erattic idle.......try that if you have one. other than that it's either the iacv or low coolant possibly

Have you had any engine work done lately that could have caused this?
If it just started doing it recently out of no where then it's probably the IAC valve.

my car also does this, but only when the car isnt warmed up...anybody got a picture of the IAC valve so i know what to look for?

yea mine has been doing this too, did a mini me swap and have 98 EX IM, theres a iacv line i believe coming off the manifold that i have a screw capped into it. should i maybe plug it all up?

its been doin it for about a year or so. the low coolant theory may be it because i had to put in a new radiator right after i got my car because it was overheating.

my car does the same thing but only when it is hot. I have a knock senser code to thow. leadfoot78 had the same problem with the knock senser I think his idle was doing the same thing to but he got a P28 ECU. he sed it fixed the problem. he got the P28 ecu from kenji it came already chipped.

Basically a cold start valve. Helps the engine warm up by keeping the idle a little higher when it's cold.

It's the protrusion on the rear of your intake manifold, near the T/B... once warmed up, if you unplug the harness connector to it... your idle should drop noticably... if its working properly...

could that have the same effect a motor when the motor is warm? my car does it when it is warm. I know I don't have a vacume leak because I hooked it up to a smoke machine there wasn't any smoke coming from anywhere so I don't have a leak. so I was wondering if ajusting the "FITV" could that fix the problem?

mine was doing this a few days ago but not that bad...1k-2k ?? nope mine was from 500k-700k back and forth. i checked everything and found that my TPS was cracked!! i guess it was when we rebuilt my motor and jammed it back in my car last weekend because we were short on time and it was FREEZING COLD!!! got tired of the rpm going up and down so i zipped tied that SOB together and it's been working fine so far so good.

Vacuum leak or could be a bad TPS.
Chiltons schematics kind of suxors, but you can look under throttle, intake manifold, and things like that. Are you throwing any codes?

my boys 92 Si was doing the exact same thing this past weekend and it was because he had air in the coolant system. so if its been doing it since you changed the radiator you most likely have to bleed it.
