Default when changing you oil pan gasket what do you use to clean the mating surfaces

Hey what up guys changing my gasket tomorow.

I got a torque wrench
not using any sealant (rubber gasket)
Just wondering what you guys used to clean the mating surfaces

you should use some honda bond, at least in the tight areas where its hard to seal, just use brake cleaner to clean the surface

Wire brush if there's anything that needs to be taken off. Chances are you won't have any residue on there.

Yeah, I use something similar.

I don't know exactly what it's called, but it's that metal-brush like sand-paper type stuff.

It's basically metal sand paper, with the same texture as a wire brush.

Works like a charm.

I've also used those brush wheel bits that go into drills - they work well too if you have an air drill that you can hold straight (holding a regular drill is just ackward when doing that, but it'll work just fine).

I used a straight edge blade to remove the larger stuff...when a stiff wire brush on the smaller, caked on crap. Do use some RTV or Hondabond in the corners where it forms the semi-circles...that's straight from the Helms manual.
