When buying a new tranny or engine from the dealer does it come with a VIN?
My friend got a new tranny from guy that works at a dealer, the guy from the dealer bought it from himself in May, but never installed it so sold it to my friend.
The tranny has no VIN number plate on it, it has only two holes for it. Should this be?
When a garage gets a new tranny how do they install a VIN plate on it..........can my friend take his old one and put it on the car? Thanks

when u pick a a new tranny casing from honda, there is no vin plate on it. As for putting the vin on it, i have no idea how easy that would be. From what ive heard, people have swapped vins on their dash when doing gsr dash conversions but they say its a real pain in the a$$

Do you need the VIN plate installed? As long as he keeps the paper work showing that he bought it he should be fine.
I can't imagine that its that hard to put one on, although if you bend it up and scratch it trying to put it on it may look more shady then if it didn't have one.

a VIN is only on a car not a motor. the VIN on a motor corrosponds to the car it is in.
you put a vin on a motor that it shouldn't be and you will be fucked
