Wheezing and gurgling sound from the engine
Hi everyone! Is there anyone here who can tell me where might the wheezing and gurgling sound coming from? I drive a 1997 Civic DX HB automatic and it seems like whenever I press the gas to downshift I hear this gurgling, wheezing sound coming from somewhere inside the engine bay. The sound is really not that loud I just don't like hearing anything abnormal in my car.

Is your radiator full of coolant? Water pump cavitation would do that, but it would also overheat the engine.
Check your overflow tank too, if air is being forced out of the cap, it could make that sound, and if boiling coolant went in there, theres the gurgle, just like blowing a straw in a drink.
Check the level of your ATF, if you have too much, it will foam up because it is hitting the rotating assembly, and cause a huge foam of bubbles blowing its way up the tranny vent.

I appreciate the help. Just like what you told me I checked the radiator and is full, ATF is good, and so far the engine has not been overheated, which is good news. I'll keep an eye on the overflow tank. Thanks again
