Default wheel rub help

car is a 94 civic hatch

the drivers side rear wheel rubs up against what i think/sound like the outter edge of the wheel well, suspension is stock and wheels are grs swirlies, with 195/55/15 tires..if i hit a dip or take a hard right turn it will rub, can this be an alignment issue, the steering wheel is a lil off center when going straight, and it doesnt pull hard to either side when u let the steering wheel go..it looks like it may be rubbing at the back of the rear wheel well wher the bumper and quarter panel meet, where the bolt hold the bumper on right there, there seems to be a peice of that bracket or what ever sticking into the path of the tire when the shock is compressed, any ideas, im going to cut a peice off that bracket to see if it helps, but wanted ideas...and to think i wanted to lower the car..

and at full lock the front drivers side wheel rubs inside the wheel well somewhere, not bad but i hear it against the fender liner, can blown shocks be a part of the culprit? car has 144,xxx miles, everything original..

thanks..

I was going to say "raise your car" but that's not the case lol. When you hit a dip your car is going to get lower for the length of the dip/bump/etc. I had my car dumped like 3.5" one time, I rubbed just when turning. It never caused an alignment issue though.

Sorry reading too fast. I don't think alignment could cause rubbing, I would think the camber would cause it more.. Like, instead of you wheels just being like turned a little but (bad alignment), I don't see how that would cause it.

Because you turn everyday and you said it doesn't rub. However if you had bad camber, wheels like / \ instead of | |, I could see how that would cause it. But you said you had stock suspension, so we can probably dismiss that idea.

If your really worried about it (I don't see why you should be) my car rubbed everyday and I didn't think twice about it.

there should be no reason for you to rub with the swirlies at factory ride height...
sounds like your shocks are blown..

That could be it. How does the car ride? Smooth? Horrible?
