They aren't a bad idea but honestly it only takes a good pair of vice grips to get them off.

i have wheel locks on my si's just for piece of mind, i got mine from autozone for like 30 bucks but they are rusting. if you want a quality pair just search some parts sites they will usually have them. as for using a vice grip to get them off that is only if you lose your key.

gorilla makes alluminum racing lugs that you can get for 60 bucks. They're not keyed though.

waste of time for wheel locks.true it would stop or slow down a car theif stealing your rims. but then they would just take your car instead and get to the wheels when they have time.

I vote for keyed Gorilla lugs as well.
I have 2 different sets (2 keys) on my car just cause I'm paranoid.

Vice grips won't work on mine but I bet hammering an allen key would.
Either way, they help but not very much at all. Whatever you do, do not buy Mcgard! I had the keyed lug shatter inside the countersunk hole on my rim. We had to take apart the entire brake assembly from behind in order to push out the lug and then raplce it. Since we tried heating it, the rim was no longer balanced (it warped a bit) so I had to buy a new rim on top of that. just caus eof a cheap a$$ wheel lock.

did you use an impact gun on the wheel lock? That is the only way I have seen the key brake, and Mcgard tells even tells you as much. I have run Mcgard on my civic for 15 years with no problems

Depends on the ones you get. It will sure keep away the amateur thief from taking your wheels though.

The mechanic had, sort of... He used a torque bar (90lbs) to put em on... When I took it to my mechanic he figured it may have been caused by heat or something which melted the powder cotaing to the nut or something like that.

I was using a standard TQ wrench to remove it when the the nut shattered and my key split on one side right down the middle.
