Default wheel fitment NOT aesthetically appealing

greetings,

i recently traded my 90 crx for a 93 del slow. i got to keep my rota slips in the trade as well as my corbeau forza. now, when i slammed my crx my rota slips fit perfectly. with a +40mm offset the edge of the wheel and the fender had almost no gap in between.

i traded my slips for a set of gt3's (same +40mm offset) and lowered my car along with it. now there's like an inch gap between the edge of the wheel and the fender. it's kind of an eye sore to me...

i was thinking extended wheel studs, spacers and some open ended lug nuts would even out this "gap" between the edge of the wheel and the fender. i would go with some wider rims, or a more aggressive offset but i like the way the gt3's look on the car.

anyone have this problem? or know of a good remedy?

thanks
~Tim

it's not just the offset it's also how wide the wheel is...
your slips were wider. get some wheel spacers case closed

i just borrow my coworkers cell phone and emailed myself pics only to find out that my email is blocked here at work. im pretty sure the slips and gt3's come in the same dimensions. my slips were 15x7 and so are the gt3's. i kept my old tires.

also, i hooked up my lc-1 and o-meter yesterday and it keeps throwing DTC 42 (heated o2 circuit). I spliced the narrowband output to the orange wire (stock o2 wire) but its a no go... i have a stock d15b7 (i think? del sol s, non-vtec) so i had to replace my original o2 sensor with the wideband one. is there any way to trick the stock ecu into thinking that there's still a heater circuit in there? lol... i dont want to chip my ecu and disable the o2 sensor till im ready to tune it (for gase mileage! woo!)

front and rear? i've never run spacers before... do you need extended wheel studs and open ended lug nuts?

Yep front and rear. Because im too poor to afford wider, lower offset wheels. Depends on what type of spacer you get. The ichiba type II just bolt on to the stock studs, then have pressed in studs that the wheel bolts to. Your wheels will need to have either openings or spaces in the hub that accommodate the stock stud sticking out.

you dont necessarily need extended studs...you can run the standard 1/4" spacers sold at pep boys on stock studs with no problems

alright thanks guys! ill definitely have to czech those spacers out. any insight on running a wideband without a chipped ecu? has anyone been successful in wiring one up and having it NOT throw a code?

i tried fooling the heater circuit by jumping the plug with a 1 ohm resistor and it worked for like 10 minutes then it threw the code again... im pretty much out of ideas haha

are you running a different size tire on the gt3's as opposed to the slips?
