Default wheel bearing issues

Recently my wheel bearing went bad on my 2000 civic ex.

i have swapped out the front knuckles for integra ones that had new wheel bearings pressed prior to me purchasing them, i know this is true because it was a friend of mine who did the work. shortly after finishing the knuckle i had the same vibrations on accelerate however the humming noise was gone so i decided to ignore it as i have shitty *** gsp axles from advance auto.

two days ago the vibrations got so bad i finally pulled the knuckle and had a new wheel bearing pressed. unfortunately the awesome acceleration death wobble was still at large. :/ i had my friend "a mechanic" press the bearing. hes one of the smartest mechanics i know however i wont rule out it could have been pressed wrong and this is a giant coincidence.

so honda tech i ask you, what could make 2 wheel bearings be bad directly after installing them on my car, i ruled out knuckles because they were changed, and also the pressed hub because the two i used were different both times. i'm just wondering if anyone else has ran into this problem and what steps i can take to fix it. i don't mind re pressing the bearing but there has to be some explanation as to how this happened twice within a months period.

-thank you in advanced

How to do you know it's the bearings?

it could be those shitty axles you have.

if it's on acceleration i'm more inclined to say it's the axle.

when i grab the wheel there's play up and down left and right, its about 4 to 5 mm of play and its very audible.

i just replaced inner and outer tie rods and upper and lower ball joints. im almost positive its this bearing.

I dont see the bearings giving you play in the wheel? id sooner say a bent rim or broken end links?

If your positve it's the bearing, replace it.

if that doesn't fix it, replace the axles.

are you torquing the axle nut to the right spec ? have you replaced the nut ? if the end of the axle is damaged it can keep the shaft from seating in the hub and then you don't get the right clamping load on the bearing . also what kind of bearings are you using

i replaced the axle tonight with my "lifetime replacement" siiiiick. :/ still shaking on acceleration. that was the same thought my friend had about the hub not seating correctly.

i just pressed the bearing if you didn't read btw.

i ordered an oem bearing from majestic honda however they sent me the wrong bearing, in a pinch i ran to my favorite advance auto and got one of their bearings. the weird thing is when i drove after replacing the knuckle it was immediately wobbly again.

Which leads me to believe either A, the bearing was pressed wrong, or B my knuckle is damaged or where the bearing gets pressed is damaged.

try changing the other axle also worn inner c/v joints can cause a vibration on acceleration
is your car slammed ? did you torque the axle nut ?

axle nut is torqued. my car is tucking a 15 inch wheel, i wouldnt say slammed but it doesnt help the cause of the vibration haha, its not binding or anything and the inner cv seems to be very solid.

im thinking my problem is the hub, or the piece that gets pressed into the actual bearing itself.

I had the same sort of thing going on and it turned out to be bad control arm bushings.

Just my $.02
