was it a b16 delsol starter or an delso si starter. also make sure bolts are the whole way in. starter should not move at all once bolted in

either way, if the flywheel from the earlier B series is differant thats the problem. its gonna be hard to say if he used the flywheel off the a1 or a2. im not even certain theres a differance, but thats probably the problem. i dont know hardly anything about B series, but thats the only logical thing i could think of. someone who knows will say for sure.

ok here it is i did some search and this is what i have cam with. The B16A will not work on 92-Up vehicles unless you can find a compatible grey plug, ECU, distributor, and hydraulic to cable adapter for the transmission. So there it is plain and simple the guy who did my swap for my 96 honda did exactly what that site showed so now i know that the hydraulic had to of came from a b16a2 so then that tells me that my starter has to be ordered from a 99 si. Does this sound right?

I have the exact same set up as you. Except my civic is a 97 hatch (with a 1st gen b16 and hydro tranny) and I replaced the starter and i'm pretty sure I used a teg starter. As far as the wiring stuff goes you just need to use the original engine wiring harness from your old engine and depending on what model civic you'll need to wire in the vtec and knock sensor and possibly extend some wires, you'll need to buy and obd2 to obd1 conversion harness, as for the distributor if you look around on the internet you can find ways to make the distributor work since the wiring is going to be different.

The starter I would think it comes from an intergra, there should be a sticker on the original starter that has a part number. I want to say it would be 1994 integra axles but I can't remember. Just look at the top of the '92-00 Civic/Del Sol' forum home page and there is a place that tells you all this information. If you need help with anything else just pm me.
