Whats wrong with my tranny?
Here is the deal. When the car is off my transmission shifts fine. When the car is on at a stop and the clutch is in, i go through the gears and it feel rough. When driving, going through the gears, it feels smoother but every now and then it will feel rough going into gear. When downshifting from a roll to 2nd at like 30-50mph it feel like there is a wall in the way and i have to force it into gear. Also after shifting into 2nd but keeping the clutch in then shifting out and going back to fifth feels the same way, like there is a wall in the way but i can break through with some force. Anyone got some suggestions on what the problem is?
For reference, its a 98+ jdm type r tranny with exedy stage 1 clutch.

is your clutch pedal freeplay propertly adjusted? i had a similar problem, my pedal was ajusted to be short, which prevented me to go into gears sometime and at high rpms. hope this help. good luck.

maybe that can help. Mine has no pressure for about the first 3 inches i push in then it starts. So now, how exactly do i adjust it. I know there is a nut and bolt on the back of the petal but what exactly do i need to do?

-there is 2 nut under your dash near your pedal.
-unbolt the 12mm near the stick with a rubber bushing covering it fron the firewall.
-than unbolt the 14mm nut on top futher out towards the dash.
-turn that bolt all the way out. now turn the stick until your pedal lines up with your brake pedal.(stick going towards firewall = long clutch, stick going away firewall = short clutch)
-turn the top bolt back down to hold the pedal align with the brake.
-tighten back up both nuts(12,14mm) and that should be it.
--IMPORTANT--: make your clutch pedal is not pressed down when you turn the bolt back down to hold it in place, this can cause your clutch to slip. hard to explain,
sorry this is the best i can describe it, easier when you are looking at it. good luck.

i have circle in RED which nut you should adjust. leave everything else alone.
--loosen LOCKNUT C.(12mm)
--loosen LOCKNUT A.(14mm)
--turn CLUTCHSWITCH OUT
--put one hand on the pedal LIGHTLY while turning the PUSHROD until pedal is align with brake pedal.
--tighten LOCKNUT C.
--turn CLUTCHSWITCH BACK DOWN just enough to touch clutch pedal(not pushing it, TOUCHING IT ONLY)
tighten LOCKNUT A.

Clutch, it looks like the brake fluid holder, make sure that is full if not you might have to bleed the clutch

anyone else have any suggestions before i go to work on it, because i wanna do everything at one time while i'm out to work on it. Like, from a stop its kinda hard to shift through, but driving normally from 1-5 shifting at like 3000-3500 and when WOT it shifts fine, but downshiting is really tough, even if i rev macth (double clutch).
