Whats wrong with my motor? B20/vtec leaking oil out the back! **HELP**
Hey everyone...
I just recently purchased a car that came with :
Engine:
HASport gen 1 mount kit
B20B engine block with B16A head and PR3 ECU
New ARP head bolts
New OEM Honda Headgasket
JE 9.0:1 pistons and piston rings
Eagle ESP rods (with ARP rod bolts)
All new bearings
Knife-edged and micro-polished crank
New timing belt and VTEC waterpump
Custom catback exhaust
Single core 3x thick 92-95 civic style radiator
K&N air filter
New fuel filter
now the problem is.... the guy says the engine leaks out the back. He said people said that it's because the engine hasnt been worked in yet???
Does anyone know why this is happening or has had similar problems? Any ideas?
Help would be tremendously appreciated as im buying this car this week!! Thank you!

If you take the header off, and get the car on a lift, motor shouldnt have to be pulled. Rear main seal or oil tap is what it sounds like. Also, as funny as it sounds, check your Oil Filter, this could be the problem. Small amounts can leak if it is loose.
Good luck
Also, take the H off of the Vtec. Thanx

well if you have a B20/vtech in your car, that could be the problem... vtech isn't known for motors, more of a phone manufacturer... oh, and those "my first computer" things.
u know someone was going to post this, so i figured for once i'd be that person.

Also check the oil feed line as well. If it was done right, it should be tapped from the oil pressure sensor, which is, whoa, on the back side of the block too!

I would def check where the oil feed line taps into and where it goes into the head sounds like one of the those hasn't been tightened down all the way probably because of shotty workmanship when you buy something all ready done check and recheck everything before you buy it and make sure you know everything tha tis wrong with the car.

Re: (99blackcivicSi)
if he hasn't closed up the original vtec oilfeed hole in the head. that could be causing the leak. if it's leaking on the rear side of the head, on the left side (forward looking aft) that is where th original oilfeed hole is.
