Default What's Up?

Got a EG6-S runninag a B16A with a P30 wondering if it is normal to only sometimes hear the vtec kick in point? It is at like 5700 RPM and when I fire it up I cannot hear Vtec kick in But after driving for a bit it is a for sure sound>?

You motor must be at correct operating temperature before vtec will engage!

you can't start your car right up in the morning, and expect vtec to kick in. you gotta wait till it warms up.

Yeah I just screwed in my IAC all the way How long should warm up take? I live in Denver & it gets kinda cold in the mornings. Does driving it hard damage it in any way when not warmed up?

of course it does man! Think about it, the oil has been sitting there all night in the cold freezing temperatures, so you have to let it warm up. lol...I know how denver mornings can be, I live in colorado too. just take it easy in the mornings man. let your car warm up properly.

I heard on HAI that screwing that in all the way was not a good idea. Someone said that it would take for ever to warm up.
