Whats the rev limit

Re: Whats the rev limit (91blksi)
What ecu are you using? It will be what ever honda set it at unless its chipped.
Whether that is safe or not for the bottom end is questionable.

i would rev it too high. if u really wanna take advantage of a LS/VTEC, i would get the crank and girdle from a GSR. but, i have heard of some guys revvin the stock LS bottom end to about 8k, but, who knows about the reliablity of their motors.

Re: Whats the rev limit (Superdragr45)
I think it would take revs to at least 7800 probably more. Just dont do it all day long and it will last awhile. If its not meant to rev that high it def. wont like it just like my d16a6 with a vtec head. I threw a rod threw the oil pan last weekend. That motor def. didnt like to be reved to 8500 rpm. Just dont beat it all the time and it should be alright. If not build the bottom end before you go screwing up too much stuff

Haha, i was just beating the **** out of it like usual when racing some kid. I used to rev. it occassionaly to 8300 and it was alright. It obviously didnt like that extra 200 rpm and being pinned there.
Now as for the 9500 rpm rev limit of your chipped ECU i would be extremely cautious about that. I would just get someone on here that is good at chipping ECU's to make you a custom one to ur preferace. That way you will always have that rev. limit to save your motor that you just dumped money into. I would get a chip with a rev. limit of around 8000 until you build the bottom end. just my .02 though
