Um, it's just a pocket. You can mount gauges or a cd player or whatever down there. Or just throw your checkbook in there. Not sure if there is an OEM plate to cover it up.

i want to stick a couple gauges down there... are people just fabbing up some pieces of plastic to put down there? i didnt know if maybe different model civics had a blank plate or anything there... if so, that'd be a piece of cake to get one and cut a couple holes in it.

there werent any problems relocating the radio down there. And the cup holder still opens without hitting the radio.

my eyes must be playing tricks on me... it looks too small...

i might consider that... what'd that radio blank plate cost you? like $14?

i dunno tho... i'm trying to avoid any type of attention... and if i mount the gauges below, they're almost completely blocked when the cup holder is flipped up...

hmm...

hey, you have any pics?

Yea the radio block off plate was like $14 from your local dealer. And there should be some pics on my sig.
Edit: the pics on the sig are pre block off plate. But you still get the idea.

I have my headunit down there. I love it for the fact that it's kinda stealth in that people usually wouldn't expect it down there and I can pop the cup holder thing up when I'm gone to hide it, BUT, when you put a drink in there, it presses the volume **** and can change the settings if your not carefull. But here's how mine fit down there:

yes most people re-locate their head units down there or just use it for extra storage of useless junk.

You take the little pocket out when you put the radio in, thats why it may seem too small for a radio.

you can even fit your HVAC stuff in there (heater controls) and mount a dual gauge (or maybe even triple gauge panel) in there. i did it when i had my EK, the only problem was connecting the wire that controls heat or cool to the actual lever behind the console.

Agreed. In before the ban.

By the way, that's a kickass stealthy way to mount a headunit. I'd do it too if it didn't mean rerouting/lengthening wires. I hate that ****.
