what's the hype over Zeal?
Ok, could someone fill me in on what's up with Zeal coilovers? Aside from the fact that they look damn pretty.... How do they hold up against tein, neuspeed, etc...?

Neuspeed just plain sucks. I dont know how good the Zeals actually are other than what I just mentioned, but some claim they are on par with Tien and JIC.

Sorry, been out of the performance loop for over a year. when i was here before, the neuspeed coilovers were considered to be quite good...
How about vs. the skunk2's? is ground control even around any more?

Yeah Skunk2's and GC's are still around. They are still about "average" IMO.
Zeal, Tein, JIC are some of the top of the line companies.
Most of these companies do all of their research and development in Japan so they make us Americans pay out the *** for their products.
$1,600 for a set of coil-overs?
BTW: I've ridden in a JIC FLT-A2 equipped Civic and I must say they are phenomenal. Top notch. They are in a different league compared to Koni, GC, Tokico, etc.

haha well been out of the loop doesn't really mean you shouldn't know the difference between full coilover and sleeved coilovers, the full coilovers like tein are really expensive and to get a descent setup you need to by some high up one's, id go with JIC FLA2 befor tein ss, but its all about personal preferance

Re: what's the hype over Zeal? (spyder)
I just got Zeal B6's installed in my EG, they handle GREAT. Indeed they are on par with Tein and JIC. I decided to go Zeal because mostly everyone that I know have Teins or JICs already. After talking to a lot of racers that have experience (they are very, very reliable sources) with Tein, JIC and Zeal, most recommend JIC for Hondas, Tein for Nissan. Zeal was either an equal to them or slightly better something like 1% better or so. I don't think there's a hype to Zeal or so. I just decided that I wanted that 1% better. I'm also a big fan of JUN Auto's cars, which uses Zeals for almost all their cars, with the exception of 1 or 2.
Bottom line is, it all depends on the driver.

Those are pix of my B6's just last week. They're in my EG now. I went for a test run with only rears and my EG turns twice as well from a 92 Si suspension (I had 92 Si suspensions in my DX, I would guess the previous owner is kinda odd). I haven't had a chance to drive it with all 4 yet though. A friend's been taking it around getting my altenator replaced, lugs replaced, etc. I'll let you know by Friday.

Re: what's the hype over Zeal? (spyder)
I didn't adjust the height at all. After we put in the coilovers they were about 1 1/3 finger gap. After they settled in it was slightly less than a finger gap in the rear. The front is also less than a finger gap after settling in a bit.
(205/15/50 tire size, my finger is about a half an inch in height)
Quite a drop from the Si suspension which was about a bit more than 4 finger gap for me.

Contact Endless USA http://www.endlessusa.com. You might find it for cheaper from other places but they might not give you the 1 year warranty that it's supposed to come with.

Re: (chameleon)
I had Zeals and Teins at the sametime. Zeal B6's on my CRX and Tein RE's on my EG. The RE's felt much better. THe B6's were nice also, but the RE's were a few steps up. Both are similar in design, but the RE's just had an edge. In the Zeals defense, they were more comfortable on the street.
