what's the difference between an EG and an EK?

what's the difference between an EG , EJ, and an EK?
i'm getting a 96-99 hatch and wanna know what letters to look for in posts. oh, and are these available w/ vtec?

92-95 = eg
96-00 = ek
These are the mAdtYt3 jaydeem chassis codes, so very few of the cars on here can "actually" be called either of these, but this is how most of us refer to them.

Nope...not here in the US from the factory. They all came with the D16y7. If you are dead set on a SOHC VTEC, check out this thread.
