from what i understand the hatches use eg in japan and eh in the us

the EG is the chassis code for the Civic in Japan and the EH is the code for the U.S. Civic.

EG is also the chassis code for U.S. Del Sol S' (EG1) and Del Sol VTEC's (EG2)
