so hey y'all.....i'm new to the forum so HI

i just bought this thing......i'm diggin it so far.....

it's got a B20 in it and i'm looking to quiet it down and make it street legal so i have to get a cat and a muffler for it.......it's basically straight piped right now.....it does have an S2000 resonator on the end of the custom pipe about half way back but that still leaves it loud enough to wake the dead......

also, i want to upgrade to an ITR-Type R motor eventually so i don't know if that would/should alter my choice of CAT or muffler.......if i does i'd be tempted to not drive it till i can save up for the motor.....

i know it's actual ideal right now as far as performance goes, but thats just going to have to suffer because the cops out here will pull you over every single time you leave the house which i am way too old for.....

or perhaps i should refraise my question:

are all 200 cell CATs (more or less) alike.......is there really much difference....because the ones i find on the internet are 100 bucks and the muffler shop wants 300

also....

the 45 dollar flowmaster muffler at the Napa versus the 250 dollar muffler at the muffler shop where they actually weld stuff on......i've been told that they tend to rip you off a bit at the muffler shop on the price of mufflers, cats ect.......even though they expressed that they don't like it (of course) i can bring in my own stuff as long as it's new they will still weld it on for me......
