sorry it's a ls vtec with skunk 2 stage 2 cams dual valve springs, valves, skunk 2 intake manifold, walboro 255, type r header full exhaust with cat, and a couple of other things, I will be putting a vafc in it soon, and everything is obd1.

OBD1 P72 ecus can be chipped, as well. That's why R666_EK asked what OBD version the P72 was.
To OP: if you are running the skunk 2 manifold, obviously you don't need the P72 cause you removed the IAB. Instead of wasting your money on an crappy VAFC, get the P28 chipped and then you can have someone do a custom tune on your car. It will perform way better than a VAFC.

agreed. Not sure why you would chip an ECU, AND run a VAFC....
I vote P28. It will do all the same stuff as the other ECU once you chip it, and you can sell the P72 for a bit more money.

I second the Xenocron suggestion. Also, you might want to look into having him chip your ECU and tune your car at the same time. He is located in New Jersey.

http://www.importperformance.com/ape...criptions.html
http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/01...afc/index.html
Back in the '90s, before Hondata, Neptune, Crome, and www.phearable.net, people who wanted to edit their air/fuel ratio and VTEC engagement points used piggy back computers made by APEXi to do the job. These piggy backs go in between your ECU and various sensors on your engine. They would intercept the electrical signals and give the ECU a different signal in order to fool it into dumping more fuel, or to engage VTEC earlier or later. These are now pretty much obsolete because you can chip and custom tune P28 ecus to have correct fuel and timing maps throughout the entire RPM band. A chipped and custom tuned ECU is much safer and way more reliable then intercepting signals to fool a stock ECU.
