whats the best way to fix door panel rattles in ek
I have rattles in both door panels it sounds like the door locks. I have taken the door panel off and checked for loose bolts is there anything else i can do to stop these rattles?

never been behind an ek door panel have you?
I really think its the stupid lock/handle linkages. Ive tried stuffing foam in the panels and wrapping them with cloth for damping...but no good.
I even tried lightly strapping them together, with just enough tension to keep them from moving on their own...still no good.
I tried a few layers of electrical tape on the lock switch too, where the linkage loops through...that wasnt it either
If you press on the panel around the handle, it stops right?

When my doors started rattling, I was told to weld a reinforcement behind the loop on the B-pillar (the piece the lock latches to on the frame), as they are prone to cracking & rusting over time. Mine was cracked, and rusted, but it'd been that way for at least 4 years prior.
I got to thinking that this solution was overkill, so I bought some white lithium grease spray and lubricated the door locks. Sole owner of a 97, they started rattling for the first time last year, and I'd never lubed them before, so they were due.
And my doors don't rattle anymore. If you haven't lubed your locks recently with white lithium grease, it might just be time to do it.

Re: (Heylookits shawn)
I took some dynomat, and rapped it around all the moving parts in the door
(everything with the door locks), and did the whole door.
I would do this if you are not worried about weight, If you are, there is some
spary in bedliner in a car, that may be a little lighter
