Whatever short shifter you get, pick up a steel alloy model, like C's, Skunk2, and B&M.
Where and how much did you pick up your Skunk2 shifter for?

Nothing special, it has a titanium color. It's made of alloy steel, not aluminum, so no worries it will snap. No one has ever had any complaints on the way it fits or shifting problems....but as long as you find another alloy steel shifter and does the same job, your fine. Unless you want to pay for the look and know you will have no worries about grinding gears, etc, etc.. I reallyneed to open the box up when we get some and take a look, maybe some pictures.

If you cut the top of a shifter off, you put in more "work", move your arm less, but dont come in/out of gears any faster.
When you lengthen the rod below the ball, and shorten the rod above the ball, you put in more "work" move your arm less, and come in/out gears faster.
And the only way it puts more strain on the tranny is if you bang gears, which most people do with a stock shifter, but because they have more leverage, if feels "softer".
To feel it for yourself. Take a 3/8 in drive ratchet and tighten down a bolt. Then take a 1/4 in drive ratchet and try to loosen it. Then do the reverse.

look dude
no matter how fast you shift
the engine STILL HAS TO SPIN DOWN to match the gear.
if you are shifting faster than the drop you WILL do damage over time.
