Default What're some engine options for a 94 Civic CX.

Original motor is dead. Just need a good replacement. I think the tranny is still good and I have the non vtec ecu and a extra P28. Ideally i would rather something that didn't have vtec so I don't have to worry about getting another wiring harness (and swapping out trannys).

I'm looking for the cheapest solution to getting this car back on the road (trying to get a solution for under 400 bux if possible).
Any help, tipz, suggestions, sales...lol.

d16z6 swap would be easy. you dont need another harness. im using a stock cx harness on my b16 with no mods (except for an extended 02 sensor harness that i made).

No one's clicking on this thread probably because they think your question is more along the lines of "Uh...which is better, B16 or B18B?"

Can't you just swap a DX engine in?

I'll have a DX engine and trans for sale soon. Got my H22a yesterday, will start the swap this weekend. D15? 155k, 5speed still runs good, very well maintained. Email me if you are interested...

dantastic might have a '92 Civic, which is why he didn't have to "f" with his harness.

If you don't want VTEC and want minimal modifications, then I suggest the following...B18B/A (that's my vote, but more expensive), ZC, D15B7/8, or D16Y7. All of which are readily available (except maybe the ZC) due to other people swapping them out, although I think the D series will be your cheapest bet.

Look what I found. And he is in Morrow.

Thanks for the heads up Milano.

Spoke to wife and she wants a SOHc vtec motor. I'm going ot try and convince her that getting something that runs for right now is better then waiting a few months without a vehicle.

Sounds like my kind of woman! Well, if she is looking for power and you want something easy, I would seriously consider the B18B (or A). Something to think about.

Well we kinda got screwed of a large sum of money that was going towards a motor for her car.

but a friend recently died street racing and with our recent bad business deal its kinda soured off the whole honda thing...she still likes speed but she said she doesn't anything that will tempt her tp be stupid (hence the single cam motor).

What I might do is convince her to get the D15 and then a few months from now when we get our money back get her a used Greddy kit (she loves turbo's....and she'd have the bells and whitsles of one just not the power that can lead you to do stupid ****).

I just got to convince her on doing a D15 for now.

Ouch, all that sucks. I know about sour engine deals (see my sig).
Definitely check out that D15 then. Boosting it later on should make her happy!

That's what I think.
Getting potentially screwed out of over 2g's will put a damper on anything.
