What year is my civic?
I have a EG4 civic but am unsure what age it is as it was imported from Ireland to UK in 2000. I have attached a few pics and am hoping someone can shed some light on the matter. The VIN plate says 1991 and the V5 says 1994. Im hoping its a 1991 so I dont have a CAT test on the MOT.
V5 info
V5 info
OBD0 wiring (converted to OBD1 for my swap)
VIN plate
D15B2 ECU numbering
Any help is greatly appreciated

Re: What year is my civic?
Thanks for the replies. I believe it is a 1994. Its definitely an EG civic but the thing that confused me is it says 91 on the VIN plate unless the 91 means something else? does anyone know what PVG and PVA mean on the VIN plate?

If it is an eg than it was made between 92 and 95 meaning your car is definately not a 91... I have no idea what those abbreviations mean though sorry.

Usually a lot of overseas vehicles are available the year prior to the US, especially in the late 80s/early 90s.
It very well may be a 1991 model year, although it is clearly an "EG."

Re: What year is my civic?
Im pretty sure it is a 1994 and it is definitely an EG civic hatch. The owners document (v5 form) states manufactured in 1994 also. However I swapped a 92-96 H22A enigne in there and if it had been registered as 1991 it would have been alot easier to pass an emissions test (new emission test laws came in for 92 and upwards models).
If the 91 on the VIN plate had meant it was 91 I would have argued this with the vehicle licensing agency as it would have made running my car easier over the next few years. The reason I was originally unsure was due to the fact the car was imported from Ireland to England half way through its life.
Anyhows now I know im going to have the catalyst tested I shall make sure it is in good working order and possibly replace it aswell as the O2 sensor. Even if they are working can their performance become degraded? Is there a way I can do the smog test with a different ECU to reduce my emissions? For instance I have a chipped P28 running at the mo, would it be worth swapping back to the P13 ECU for the test?
Thanks
