what year civic would make for best racer? ,95 or 96 and is the si a better idea
im getting a civic but i dont know which year to get.Im thinking about a 96 ex coupe,but i knda wanna go fr the si for the stock hp and the possible supecharger,and if there is a company that makes a turbo for the 96 ex coupe i wuld like to know what it is.

The best "racer" will be a hatchback with an engine swap. Then you can go to a supercharger or turbo from there.
If the style of the hatch bothers you. Then I would either buy a 99-00 Si or the cheapest coupe i could find and do an engine swap in it. SOHC 1.6 blows in my opinion.

if you are asking what is the best civic for a racer dont get the Si.. someone had a post on this that they regretted getting one because they are awefuly heavy!

yea..weight is a factor if you want a "racer". and most ppl say to get a hatch cause its light 
with a swap
but if you want a coupe and a whole lot of less work...go for the 96 ex.
they didn't have the si's again until 99

WEIGHT!!!! That is all you should think about!!!!
If you want a coupe get the HX. 23XXlbs.
EX coupe = 25XX lbs.
SI Coupe = 26XX lbs.
92 VX = 20XX lbs.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 92-95 VX is what you need to look into.
Another thing to consider. 6th Gens (96-00) are OBDII, which everyone knows the OBDII ECU's are not tunable.

Get a 92-93 CX or VX hatchback

If you want to road race autox I would go with the 99-00 SI because you have a good suspention and 4 wheel disc brakes and nice motor to work with. If you are going turbo adn drag racing Fmax makes the best turbo kit I have seen I mean they make a kit that is already tuned and makes more HP than Drag http://www.f-max.com/installpage.htm give them a call or read on ther site it is in depth.
