96 SOHC VTEC

OK. For quite awhile now my clutch has been acting up when it is cold. When you let out the clutch after just turning the car on, you have to let it out just right or there is an extremely violent shake that comes from the car. Almost as if it is going to die. The entire dashboard shakes and everything.

You have to toy with the gas, and the clutch in order for it not to do it, or you have ot rev it up to around 4k and ride the clutch out. Otherwise, it is extreme shake.

I don't notice this after the car has been driven for say, 30 mins or so. It drives just fine, but when the car is cold. ****.

This is really driving me up the wall. Any ideas?

I am no mechanic, but you might want to get that **** checked out. Have a shop or a friend?

No, but my friend has an Excedy clutch with around 15k on it, and he is starting to have the same problem. Somebody said it could be a hot spot on the clutch plate.

Doesn't anybody have an idea?

my car does that too...but i have a stock clutch that is barely alive...

I am on stock clutch with 91k.

My Exedy clutch is not doing it anymore. It barely does it if any. Problems seems to be cured for some reason. Shook just like your symptoms for about 3 weeks and went away. Weird huh?

you need a new clutch !! is your springs in the clutch that has gone bad !!

How come it only has the symptoms when the car is cold though? Once you have been driving around for 20 minutes or so it quits.

!?! that i cant tell you !! but had the same prob !! and mostly when cold !! but the springs becomes weak over time !! that i know for a fact !!
