What would it take to hold an autocross event?
To my knowledge there are no such events in my area. There are quite a few nice cars tho. My work has a large parking lot which i think could support a nice track and 40-50 cars. There is additional parking across the street. We open late on sundays so I would hold it then. Are there pre-determined track layouts or anything of that such. Does anyone have a waiver or something from a autocross for particpants to sign. How much does it usally cost to enter. I dont want to make $$, Id like to cover the cost of cones, flyers, maybe something to keep EMS in the area. Do I need any kind of permit? Any help or info would be helpful. I would like to do it mid december b4 it gets too cold. Otherwise, next spring. Once I get some setup info, ill start a list of attendence. Thanks.

I don't really know off the top of my head, but you might try contacting the SCCA and request some info from them. I believe their website is http://www.scca.com

getting lot insurance and approval from SCCA are the 2 biggest hurdles. Then spending $3k+ on a timing system, 200-300 cones..........renting a portapotty, etc.
Also, track site shoud not be visible from any road. This keeps passerbys from looking at racing and not at traffic.
I've been searching for 4 years for a GOOD autox site in Cincy. I had the PERFECT site off Glendale-Milford Road, then GE bought the property.
