Default What would happen if i had no knock sensor?

Okay, I fucked up I know. I am not a mechanic okay. I am trying to learn how to do this **** to save money (but I am actually spending more money than I should.)

Done with my excuses...Here is what happened.

I have a b16a sirII motor and I wanted to put in the skunk2 intake manifold. So I decided to put in a fuel pressure regulator. By the way what is the stock fuel pressure supposed to be? Anyways, I have not yet been able to put in the manifold because of two bolts. Can't get them off. So I put it back together with the new B&M fuel pressure regulator and guage. In the process, my buddy went to unclip the knock sensor (who knows why) but instead of uncliping it, it was so fragile or corroded, it broke off. So now I am looking for a knock sensor, but my car is sounding funny. It goes vrrrrroooom....grrgrrgrr...vrrrrrrooommm....basica lly not steady at idle. What is it? Is it because the knock sensor is off or that I am running too lean? Please any help would be great. I found a senor and it will go in this weekend. Is it easy to put on too. And yes, I will be doing it my self, so hopefully I don't break it. Please any help would be great and oh, please don't forget to pray for me. I don't need to break anything else and I need my awesome civic hatch to run great.

Please email me at hb_crazee@drillersdrivingschool.com for any suggestions.

Thanks,

Peace

Put the new Knock sensor on, set your FP to about 38-40 psi, make sure you pull the vacuum hose off and plug it when you check it. The car should run good then unless you have a inake mani. leak.Spray some carberator cleaner around it if the idle goes up, you have a manifold leak.

not having the knock sensor wont make your car run like crap, at least not that bad. all the knock sensor does is retard timing when it detects detonation.
