up side: -raised compression due to smaller combustion chamber
- all your b16 head parts can be spares or used on the gsr head
down side: (if any) -price of gsr head
- dual stage intake manifold (maybe)
also i think gsr has slightly better cams
and the intake manifold can be swapped with a skunk2 unit

actually i've seen this done on a friend ek! it raised the compression alot especially cause the block had ctr pistons. ran strong and head had work done from jg engine dynamics. what I've seen that was pretty gay was an b18a head on a b18c block. i don't know how they got it to work, but it did. sucked ***** though!

if you use a stock b18c1 block with stock gsr internals and slap a b16 head on it u will lower the compression.. this is what im doing currently right now but im using 12:1 compression pistons so that my compression will even out to 11:1.

thanks...leaving everything stock with the lower comp, is this going to hurt anything?...besides hp. plan to do this on my 00 Si.

Re: what would happen>> b18c head on a b16a block (jdmbuilt)
i would only cosider this if:
1. I was low on money and wanted to build a fairly cheap setup.
2. I already had a b16 and could get a gsr head for cheap.
If you already have a b16 just buy the gsr head and sell your b16 head. That should even out your cost. Then just buy the skunk2 IM. Do a search for this setup, alot of people have used it, and some people really like it.
