What width wheels can I use on a Del Sol?
I'm building myself a wonderful Del Sol, and under the subject of wheels, I'm wanting to do some good wide ones with a great offset. My baby is lowered on D2 suspension, so I'm going to stick with 16's. My question to you all is WILL I have turning/clearance issues if I put 16x8's or 16x9's for everyday use? Consider offset as well, maybe a 16x9 with +25 offset? Will it rub?

Fenders are currently unaltered. Being that the suspension is fully adjustable, i can bring the car up or down couple inches if needed. i will consider rolling them if i need to of course. Im worried about my turn-ability if i go to a 9" width...

You're probably going to have rubbing issues if you don't roll your fenders at the very least. Rolling your fenders will give you more clearance and less possibility of rubbing.

I put a GSR motor in the del sol and in time will get a turbo onto it as well, so traction is going to bother me :0 also going for an overall car, getting best handling i can get as well as power. On the s2000 note, my buddy put 17x9's on his. they look siiiiiick

U dont have enough weight to put down for 16x9
And u will have to drive in straight line because u wont be able to turn for ****.
I already had a discussion here about wider tires. Exactly same idea i had.
Bigger is not always better.
U want a better grip. The tires is what holds u on the road not how wide they are.
Build ur suspension properky and get good quality tires.
Going 70mph and slipping on cheap *** tires with 7.5 wheels
Going 95 on same turn with 7 inch tires and yokohama s drive without slipping..

Here is a novel idea.
Go out to your car and measure to see what will fit!!!
It is that easy and you didn't even have to make this idiotic thread that was made 1000x last week!!! The only people that answer these threads are the newbs that likely don't have the knowledge to know!!!

Depends how much u want lowered.
I have 205/50/16 tires and can only lower about an inch and a half.
205/40/16 can be dropped all the way
Google. Miata tire size calculator. It gives you an idea bouts how wide and tall tires gonna be.

My Del Sol is lowered 2" sitting on 17's with 205/40/ZR17 tires. I have no issues with clearance at all. I do plan on putting power steering back on the car as soon as warm weather comes. I live in Maryland.. The previous owner who did my B18C1 swap deleted the power steering and the AC..
