What the WHOHA is a fmu and a fuel management system like afc hack?
Are the 2 different? Would i need both components to boost? Vortech FMU & Apexi V-AFC for example...

um, iirc, if you're using the afc hack, you don't need the fmu. for the afc hack you need dsm injectors, and an injector resistor box from an older honda.

can i just run the afc hack on a motor w/ bolt ons...will it make a difference if dyno tuned?

also will the v-afc work well on a stock p28 ecu? or would i also have to "chip" the p28 to make wonders?

afc hack= dsm 450, resistor box & vafc. this setup is ideal for forced inducted set-ups.
i dont think your motor w/ bolt ons will even idle wilth this set up, oh i forgot, high flow intank fuel pump is also needed for the hack.

it'll work... but i dont see why you would need a vafc if your running a stock p28. pple normally normally use the vafc with chip p28's because their motors require the additional fuel...
if you have a stock motor running a stock p28, dont bother shelling out 2 bills for a vafc

The VAFC hack and FMU's are 'fuel management solutions' (and I use that term lightly) to a boosted setup.
You can however run the VAFC on your P28, but you would not run it in the 'hack' sense....you wouldn't use bigger injectors. You do not need to chip your P28 in order to use a VAFC as all this device does is modify the MAP signal that feeds the ECU....so in effect, the VAFC tricks the ECU into operating in a different part of the fuel/timing maps.

Re: What the WHOHA is a fmu and a fuel management system like afc hack? (EE_Chris)
I will sum it up for you, the afc hack is used for FI setups. What you do is use dsm 450's(injectors) and run inline resistors. Now you have 450's instead of your stock 220's, now your running more than double the fuel. Now you need a safc or a vafc to lean these new dsm injectors out, normally you lean them out to -40%. As for the fmu(puck is what I call it) it makes your stock 220 injectors work over time, the fmu is fine for small fi setups, but the afc is a better way to 'tune' out your system. As for picking one of the two, I'd pick Hondata. LOL. I have used both the afc and the puck and out of the two the afc hack works wonders if your on a cheap budget.
