You talking about phillips head screws?

Most probably, if they have not budge in a while, you will need a bit of heat (torch) and a small manual impact driver to take them out..

I have removed some of those using a huge snap-on screwdriver, a couple of taps with a hammer and try twisting... You may be lucky that your screwdriver will have a molded nut on the shank to put a wrench for added torque.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like you're talking about 12 pt. bolts, in which case you'll need a properly-sized 12 pt. socket to remove them.

is it an internal or external star?? if its external then it would be a 12 point wrench or socket, like already stated. if its an internal star, then it would be a torx bit. it looks almost like an allen key bit for a ratchet. but it has the shape you are probably lookin for.

Its called a Torx Bit and it varies depending on application. But all the honda's I have worked on have bots on the back. For other applicatiosn you need to go to a autoparts store and looks for a torx bit set. And it will probably be like T25,T27,T30,T35,T40,T45,T50 etc dont get the little bitty ones they will be too small. If it does not look like those then it is a alan key.

its definately not a 12 point bolt

the star shape is inside the head of the bolt

i guess a torx bit would work

thanks.

This is the spindle im talking about

I need to remove it and replace it with another one because I stripped the threads on the back part that holds it to the trailing arm

Torx bit #50. Just re-did my drums to rear disc brakes. Instead of swapping the whole trailing arm, I just took the spindle and hub off and put the rear disc on. Oh and if the car is older than 5 years I would suggest getting a hoist or something to get the car high enough to get leverage on the nut. I had to torch a couple off because they were so rusted!

The torx nuts hold the drums on while the big nut in the center holds the hub on . The torx nuts are located around the the big nut. Once you get that off then the whole assembly comes right off.
