What type of bolts for exhaust?

What type of bolts for exhaust?
I am wondering what grade of bolt would hold up to the temperature of my exhaust system. Do you think a grade 5 bolt would hold up to the heat and wear?

Re: What type of bolts for exhaust? (Green2000CivicEx)
the grade of a bolt has nothing to to with what temperature it will hold up to. Grades are a standard of tensile strength.
Your exhaust does not require a bolt of even grade 5 strength. What it does require, is a positive method of locking the bolt in place. You can't use a nylock for the obvious reason that the nylon would melt on your first drive. Better options include a standard hex nut with a lock washer, or if you want to simplify the installation, use K-nuts. You should not reuse the K-nut after removing it, though.

hope that helps.

Any nut and bolt you get from your local hardware store will be fine. Make sure you use lock washers.
I like to use the springs also that are down by the cat.
Whatever you use will more then likely snap when you go to take them off in a few years.

Hey, thanks a lot for the responses. I know what the grades of bolts are used for, I just wasn't sure if what I had would hold up to the heat. I was putting a new cat onto the b-pipe and wanted to be sure that these would hold up Thanks a lot for the advice, I really appreciate it.
