What trunk lid will fit a 2000ex coupe?
I'm pretty sure that any 96-00 dx,ex,si coupe trunk lid will fit, regardless if the color matches or not.
Was rear-ended awhile back and have this huge dent in the trunk lid, needing to get it replaced. Luckly no major structural damage was caused, paint and body shops were quoting me around 2000+ which is just ridiculous. The bumper mounts were slightly bent, I've already fixed those and the rear drivers side panel was warped a little. I fixed that using the hair dryer/compressed air technique. So pretty much everything is back to normal except the trunk lid. I'm going to have to replace most of the wiring and both lights, trunk lid was completely filled in using spray foam to keep it from rattling. (This was while my brother owned the car.)
Another question I'm debating on, directly from honda a new lid is around 600. Pick and pull, could probably pick one up for 100-200. I was debating on going with carbon fiber but damn they look to ghetto and ricey, plus are in the 400-500 range. Anyone know if you can paint carbon fiber? Wouldn't mind going with one if it could be painted to match the car.

As far as I know any coupe trunk should fit. I think the only differences were the lights, and whether the insert was painted or not.
Of course you can paint carbon fiber. Also be aware those trunks don't always line up, and will larger or smaller gaps. You may even have to drill your own holes into it.

Heh, well right now mine doesn't line up in the least bit.. since it's crooked as all hell from being rear-ended. Going to have to buy 3 new lights as well, both drivers side and the passanger side one that is on the trunk. Gotta love when your brother spray foams the entire trunk lid.... what a mess.
What kinda prep work goes into painting the CF? Just your standard clean, sand, prime and paint? If I was to go CF, I'd go with something like this and then paint it to match the car.

Don't even bother wasting the money for the carbon fiber trunk if you're going to paint over it, the way looks carbon fiber gives is 80% of the reason why people buy it - not because of its weight savings.
Just go to a junkyard like you said, pick a random trunk, and get that painted. Cheaper, and looks better too.. painted carbon fiber always looked odd to me.

Yea I'm feeling about the same way right now, figure the amount of money I save can go into more projects for the car.
