What tranny fluid/weight to run?

Default What tranny fluid/weight to run?

Hey guys im about to instal my new clutch/flywheel setup, and was wondering what tranny fluid to run? Also What weight would be best. Because i do have one problem, my 2nd-3rd will grind alot under a heavy load. I heard redline might solve this? But again if so what weight should i get. Thanks

With a grind, the only fluid I know that may help would be GM synchromesh friction modified. It's pretty expensive, and you have to get it from a dealer.

i had a 95 gsr teg and it grinded into 3rd and i put rotella 15w40 in the trans cause i worked at an oil change shop and got it for free and it helped a lot, stopped the grinding, thats what happened for me though and may not work for everyone else
but i'd recommend it

I had a slight grind in 2nd. Lucas makes some 15w70 tranny fluid that's thick as hell. I mixed that with some synchomesh, and I now shift smooth as hell.

try searching under "synchromesh"
Personaly ive used this stuff for the past year and a half in the couple of trannys that ive used and, WOW!! really good stuff. IMO worth every pennybasicaly its about 20 bucks for 2 quarts but definalty very good stuff. will never use anything else.
