what tools r needed for rear strut swap?
I was wondering if there where any special tools needed other than standard sockets need to swap the rear struts on a 97 honda civic. I am going to attempt swaping them out but need some research before i jump in.

Not really. A 14mm socket, and a 17mm. You'll also need a spring compressor to get the spring off. You can rent that at AutoZone though for free. I just moved from St. Louis, if I was still there I'd lend you a hand. Good luck.
edit: Just saw your second post. I'd get a spring compressor, especially since it's free. People say you can do it without, and I'm sure you can. But for free, why not.
