is the wrong question, what i wanted to ask is, is it my electric fuel pump? how to use back the old pump ? tmrw i will snap more photos of the electric fuel pump wiring.

Re: What is this thing ?

i know those two thing are similar function right? just wanted to know which one better? the electric fuel pump is ok but it makes knocking noise when it feed on petrol to the carb,

Re: What is this thing ?

nobody knows this? if i do an injection swap do i need to remove this thing? the original fuel pump?:thud:

Re: What is this thing ?

The first thing that you asked if it was a relay is an in-line fuel filter. The second picture shows the fuel pump. I wouldn't try switching carburated to fuel injected. Better to just get a new motor.

what buying a new motor? wow im not rich dude, converting a carb to injection will have big problems? such as?:thud:

well for starters a whole bunch of new parts anyways if im not mistaken such as a new ecu, intake manifold, injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail.

Re: What is this thing ?

what is the car we are looking at year, model, trim etc? i would have to agree a swap will likely be much easier by the time you buy manifold, injectors, fuel rail, sensors, ecu, wiring harness, throttle body... the list goes on. I don't know how hard it is to find an engine in malaysia. But in the U.S. i could pretty much say for certain swapping would be much cheaper.

Re: What is this thing ?

that second thing looks like it might be the fuel pressure regulator take a better pic of the whole the engine compartment

Re: What is this thing ?

First pic is either an inline fuel filter or an inline fuel pump, I can't tell for sure if that wire goes into it or not. (just in case no one has ever seen one, there are inline fuel pumps out there that look pretty much exactly like an inline fuel filter with 2 wires coming out the side, they're mostly used on diesels)

Re: What is this thing ?

You gotta do a looooot to convert it.
New gas lines, wiring, parts that other have stated etc

Re: What is this thing ?

Converting to Fuel injection would be JUST as difficult on a new motor....

Putting in a new motor you gotta do the same shit as well as pull the motor and put the new one in.

To convert to MPFI you're gonna need to ditch the vacuum advance distributor. And either modify a DPFI (DX, STD) dizzy or buy an MPFI (SI, HF, LX) dizzy with the Cylinder position sensor...and get a DPFI engine bay harness and modify it for DPFI. Then it's the standard MPFI swap stuff. Manifold, TB, Fuel rain, Injectors, resistor box...all should be found in an MPFI swap thread. Don't forget MPFI spec fuel pump....Fuel lines should be similar.

yea but some people said carburetor got more power and cheap, i more into throttle body type of guy, this is my 1st Dseries engine with carb, i can see is not much different with an injection its just i have no idea how to tune a carb,:thud:

sounds so difficult to do so, i guess just get an ecu, full set harness, and complete intake manifold, can say any greese monkey can do this, any thanx dude:thumbup:

in malaysia is cheap for D series, its around usd250 or less  for complete engine of course, here in malaysia they crave for B and K series only not much D tuner here..:thud:

I agree with u.... complete engine swapping would be easier, just buy complete front part half cut of EK9 B16B CTR or EG6 B16A.... come together with complete engine assembly, wiring, knuckle, front body part and with dashboard.... it would be easier than converting carb into EFI.....

or the easiest way is buy a car with b16a or b16b in the engine bay huhu

well what i was saying is it will be much cheaper just to swap an entire fuel injected engine in. I just said d because it looks like that's what you have. I still don't understand why you haven't listed what your setup/car is.

I can guarantee you that you will pay more to convert to injection, than a swap. And it will be much more work than a swap, listen to people who are trying to help you.
