I'm sure this bar will really work, looking at the way it's made.
I start thinking of building a simillar one DYI. Just wandering, how does it attaches to the firewall?
Firewall is not solid as far as I know.
Any clues?

carbing makes beautiful stuff and since that bar bolts to the firewall, it works the way that it is supposed to! Only issue is that 3-pt bars like that are not allowed in some levels of auto-x and other motorsports.

THe 3rd point is connected by 2 10mm bolts, i dont see how that helps much at all, but it sure is pretty.

the two points that mount to the strut bar do most of the work and have most of the load. The mounting points on the firewall just provide a little extra stability, but don't have to be as rigid as the others because you won't have as much chassis twist in that diretion.

it's the only thing sitting between the engine and the people in the car..i'm sure car manufacturers had this in mind with regards to front impact collisions..on another note i just picked one of these up (the steel one) which is actually pretty light.. i just hit it with some bbq flat black paint and i'll be installing tonight..

arent allowed in SOME classes, yet these ARE allowed in many modified-car-classes

sheesh, so many people make it seem like you cant even autocross if you have one of these.

beautiful bar, good luck making one on your own.
too complicated for me to try a DIY 3 pt bar.

I think leo at jdmspecperf has these on GB every so often....

The carbing looks nice, I just wish it attached to the upper control arm bolts instead of the upper shock tower bolts.

The new JG/Edelbrock 3-pt bar attaches to the stock upper shock brace mount bolts AND the upper control arm bolts.

I have to say that I really don't understand why people make a big deal about bars that attach to the shock mounting bolts. Since it is the strut/spring assembly that bears the load of the vehicle, it is what transfers the most force/energy to the chassis which would cause the twisting. So having a bar that attaches to them is still VERY effective.
