Icon2 What spring/shock combos can I get for around $600-700?

I have around 800$ and i want to get a suspension for my,
1996 Ek hatch, right now its on cut springs(very low) i want to keep it
low but i also want the ride to be comfortable, I've been looking at reviews
for F&F type 1's, I heard good and bad things. I've also seen that people say
"go with spring/shock combos" What can i use personally to get what i want
for around 600-700 bucks?

I would like some shock/spring combo advise or Coilover suspension advise.
Thanks..

Any negative comments? keep them to yourselves.

I just ordered koni yellow with ground control for my 96 ek hatch. It is my daily driver, and I called ground control, and they recommended stock rates. 340 front and 250 rear. Also, keep in mind if you call them, tell them your intentions,ie-motor swap, how low,and you overall intentions race or just a daily. Guys I spoke with where very helpful.

I have a 95 hatch and I have been looking at eibach. For that amount you can get the pro/sport system plus (springs, shocks, and front and rear anti-roll bars). I havent heard to much about them. I don't know just a thought.

you can get any style from not very agressive 350lb front/ 250 rear or the street/track 350lbs front/ 350 lbs rear to very agressive like Drag spring rates 350lbs front and 500lbs rear with the Progressive cs2 coil overs( real coil over not a cheap sleeve style) they are under 800(http://progressauto.com/products/productID/671). ive also looked into getting a set of yonaka full coilovers the spring rates are alil high for the front but if your lowering the far alot in the front it is good to have a high spring rate to keep the shock from bottoming out on every or any bump. most people ive read that have tried the yonaka like the feel of them and are a good buy for a full coilover out the box for 500.

You don't slam on these. There is a recommended ride height range from Progress. You may void any warranties by not following them.

You can purchase them from ground control as a kit. It includes koni yellow, springs, sleeves, and extended top hats. I was quoted just over 1000 for the set. I bought the konis locally for 499(for all 4),and just ordered the ground control springs and sleeves from them(350). I have no need for the top hats, unless you plan on slamming the car, then the extended top hats may be something you need. As for a daily driver,I wouldn't recommend slamming the car. Total I am at 849.

Also, keep in mind, that ground control has a specific spring and sleeve for the koni yellows.

Sorry to keep this thread going, but last point to make on the Koni/GC setup,is the lifetime warranty both Koni and GC offer. I am ok spending 849 total for peace of mind of a backed warranty from two reputable companies. JMO though. Beats buying another setup now,to have issues couple years down the road, and have to buy another spring/strut combo. Then you'd be like "should have bought the Koni/GC to begin with."

I think the words were "pretty low" and the OP would like to keep it that way. Pretty low is not what Progress coilovers are for. Don't think I was advising you personally.

Just puttin' it out there. I've seen people wreck setups due to misuse or faulty installs and then cry when the company fails to honor a warranty. Conversely there are companies that sell defective merchandise and NEVER honor the warranty.
