At what speed do you shift your DX?
I don't have a tach in my car yet and was wondering at what speed do you usually shift gears in your DX's when you are runnin' it hard. I usually shift out of 1st at 25mph, out of 2nd at 45mph, out of 3rd at 65-70mph, and don't usually shift out of 4th if I'm runnin' it hard.

ex cluster
I shift to second at 35-40
to third at about 55-60
and to fourth at about 90
If I plan on going fast I don't shift to fifth.

I still have the stock size tires, whatever they are I'm not sure. 14" diameter I know that. Do I have to wire anything differently for the EX cluster to work or just take mine out and put it in? Also, what does the D16Y7 tach out at?

take our your cluster and plug in the EX or SI one.
then you will have a working tach.
or you can do this like i did if you are feeling adventurous

Before I hydrolocked my DX - I could:
1st - 30mph
2nd - 60mph
3rd - 85mph
4th - fuel cut
5th - fuel cut
Sometimes depending on the weather conditions and the amount of gas I had in the car I could stretch those numbers even further

How did you hydrolock it? What is hydrolock would probably be a better question.

2. Gets into cylinder
3. Doesn't compress like air does
4. Break/Bend rods and everything else.

So I should probably get the Air Bypass Valve for my AEM CAI then huh? Or is it not likely to suck up water unless submerged?

That's what I thought, I haven't had any troubles yet, and I don't live in a high flood area so I think I'll be fine.

Yeah I was planning on doing the mini tach on the pillar. But I didn't know all you had to do is swap the EX one, I thought there would be more wiring needed, so now I don't know.

I'd shift about 10-15 mph slower if I was driving it hard. Max power on the DX is about 1000rpm below redline (I think).
