What are the softest, most stock like springs you can get for an EK9?

As the topic says. I want the look without the loss in ride quality. Anywhere from a 1.3-2.0 drop is cool.

tein s-tech are pretty comfortable if you have good shocks...

Weapon_R 02-13-2005 08:04 PM

sportlines are not a good riding spring. I'm looking for near-stock ride

Aren't those an Ebay special, some of the most lower end springs you can get?

JDMlyfestyle 02-13-2005 08:16 PM

my sprint springs are very comfortable daily driving. way softer than H&R race on AGX.

Eibach Pro-kit is the closes thing to a stock ride.

Sprint arent bad, I had a friend on those with stock shocks and it felt pretty soft. H&R are good as well.

I've had them on my car for about 4 years now and absolutely love them. I've never seen them as "Ebay specials" before (never looked either) and actually selected them at the time because they were exactly what I was looking for in a spring. A high quality spring from a company that has a great deal of knowledge in lowering of vehicles (company is actually Bell Tech). They make one of the nicest rear sway bar/ tie bar combos on the market, right up there with Comptech.

I only wanted a slight amount of lowering because of our Canadian roads which are usually in rough shape because of the winter months etc. The springs I have lower 1.3" and are very soft, only slightly stiffer than stock which is exactly what you want if you want your car to handle well and drive it on the streets. Big sway bars + reasonably soft, slightly lower springs, adjustable dampening = excellent handling on the street. Track setup is slightly different with stiffer springs because of the smoother surface.

You really have an EK9?

Heh, anyway.. the most comfortable lowering spring out there is the eibach pro-kit. Hands down.

Sport lines are almost exactly the same but lower.

you want a good ride? get shocks and springs, your car will obviously bounce with just springs, get koni yellows and skunk2/ ground control.

There are not soft lowering springs. The softest that I know of are the Tein S-Tech, and they are considerably stiffer than the OEM springs. Maybe ground control can come up with a very low custom spring rate for you. Anybody know the rates of stock springs?

The term "soft lowering springs" is just relatively speaking. The suspension Techniques lowering springs I use are only 50-80 lbs higher rate than stock springs which I believe are approx 200 F and about 180 R. I was doing a search to find the exact specs om the springs but I couldn't find them and I know I saw them on here before. What I listed is pretty close.

Turbo E 02-14-2005 11:08 AM

H&R OE sport.

Mike_C 02-14-2005 12:01 PM

keep in mine the softer you go the more likely you are to bottom out... why not just cut some stock springs? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

tein s tech like mentioned above. i think it rides better than stock even with stock shocks on there. drop is nice on coupes but not low enough for hatches imo.

I have H&R sports on AGX's and the ride is slightly harsher than stock. I guess the ES bushings don't help my case. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

haha no I don't, but H-T.com only lets you search for words with more than three letters, which is why you'll alway see me post EK9 instead of EK. Not only does it help people in the future, but it's easier for me to find when I do need it.

Now, so far i've narried it down to two different setups:

Tein S-tech

Eibach Pro kit

Both on KYB GR2 struts.

Any final words of wisdom for me?

Tein S-Tech https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Rides just as good as stock without needing to upgrade the stock struts.

I picked up Eibach sportline with OEM shocks from an HT'er. I must say the ride is soft / comfy just like stock https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Only thing drop still has about 1 1/2 finger gaps.

When rolling the 1 1/2 finger gaps seem to go away (looks pretty low) for some reason http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

Weapon_R 02-14-2005 03:02 PM

is it really okay to drop the car with s-techs and not replace the stock struts? I only have about 30k on my stock ones, so if I don't have to...

Maybe you should lose the AGX's in favor of Tokico Illuminas or better yet, Koni Yellows. AGX's are somewhat of a stiffer strut.
