what size tap do i increase to.. from M10
I stripped out one of the threads on the chassis that was M10x1.25. When i tried recutting the threads, the bolt that goes in it is very loose. What is my next option. I would believe that going to 7/16" is my best bet. Anybody have any suggestions? tahnks

7/16(about 11mm) should do it if you still have some threads left on the m10. What bolt is this though. If you have the room and it is load bearing I would think about jumping up to a m12. That way you know you have good metal to work with. If it is just for a heat shield or something like that. The 7/16 should be fine.

its the threads on the chassis, lower engine mount. One of them was stripped, the mount that bolts on to the AC mount, to the lower part of the car chassis. You think 7/16 is good enough? I think that M12 mite be too big... no?

I don't know if it would be too big. I would physically have to look at what it needs to clear to decide that. With the 7/16, just make sure that the tap is cutting into good metal and not just crossing over the old threads. I think it would be but I would have to grab a a mic and check it out.
That mount really shouldn't be under much stress anyway.
