i think that is lower than usual... i ran 15.4 with my brothers scion tc and with my 99 si with a stock b16 (cept for a light flywheel...) and i smoked the tc by between half to a full car length.

gotta be the driver... unless an ek hatch is significantly heavier than a em1...

You can have 7 grand into your engine and still run 17's, it all depends on how you drive...

16.4 sounds a bit high to me. but a stock b16 isnt all its cracked up to be. do be surprised if you get walked on by a d16z6 with bolt ons. my z6 with i/h/e would walk on any stock b16. em1, swapped ek, swapped eg, even a few gsrs. doesnt really matter. a stock b16 isnt much more powerful than a z6 and isnt worth **** until you start putting money into it. i ran a 15.4 with my z6 and i know most b series swaps especially a sotck b series wont do times like that. and yes the driver does have a lot to do with it but dont expect to be anywhere near 14s or anything.

it would help if you gave us your trap speed. i dont think a z6 can pull on a b16. even with h/i/e they make less power than b16s. b16>z6. the only way a b16 would lose is if the driver sucked.

Are you smoking something? z6's will smoke b16's anyday dude, ive seen z6's pull GSR's yea maybe the driver wasnt as good but the GSR over powers the z6 by like 50-60 HP. So even if the driver wasnt as good he still had more power and should still pull a z6.

Re: (SlaMMedB16)
had a z6, have a b16, b16>z6..... sorry to burst your bubble but 125 hp sohc just isnt quite the 160 dohc, yes a heavy modded z6 with a competant driver can beat a b16 driven by a 6 year old, but as far as the two engines are concerned, if the hay the same mods and the same tune, b16>>>>z6

That's one of your problems...you're launching too high for street tires and spinning your *** off more than likely, not to mention any issues your car may have.

Re: (Frickr)
why is there even an arguement here? who the hell cares.
the OP had a CEL on at the track. most likely not engaging vtec due to limp mode. therefor running a failsafe amount of fuel all of the way across the rpm range and just keeping his car slow. fix the CEL And report back with 15.6s

You're telling me a Z6 hatch will "smoke" a b16 hatch?
