Default What should i do to my d15b?

Hi I have a 94 Civic ex coupe, and I am swapping a d15b motor and tranny into it next week, I was just wondering if anyone else had them? Also, what can I do to it to get some decent power? (Besides turbo)

Its single cam, so you should go boost for the best amount of power.

If you really did want to throw other parts on there, you could start with I\H\E , Bigger intake manifold, upgrade the cam (Skunk2 or Zex), ACT flywheel and Clutch, maybe find a port and polished head, and get a chipped ECU.

Those are just ideas off the top of my head, but when it comes down to it for a SOHC, your much better off just going boost.

There is no decent power from D-series without turbo

x2.

It's going to cost you 5x the cost of a turbo to go na on a d-series with less results and more headache and time in the shop.

You can run get 220whp reliably on a d-series on stock internals.

Fastest N/A SOHC honda ive seen is a Z6 ej8 with a Blox Racing manifold, chipped P28, MSD ignition, ACT flywheel and clutch, Skunk2 stage 2 cam w/ Valvetrain, ported and polished head, and a full intake / exhaust.
After all that, it ran a 14 flat.

then dont waste your money trying to build up a d series. Putting an i/h/e is a complete waste for that motor. Just keep it stock and use it what it was made for, Good gas milage.

If you really wanna go faster, either boost that motor or save up for a b motor. Even an ls swap would be good, there not that expensive.

Amen, sometimes an LS swap can be done for much less than even a homemade turbo. My buddy got a whole wrecked LS for $450.

im in the same situation as you... i have a d16y8 with i/h/e clutch and a skunk im. trunk is gutted to ****. all of my buddies have b16a motors, and i can hang with them... dont get me wrong its not a monster, but its respectable and will do until i get a swap.
besides that i got a flywheel and possibly a cam and valvetrain on the way hopefully. its fun to be different

keeping up with ab16 is nothing, it is the most overrated swap and is slow. And I doubt a d16 can keep up with a gsr. Sorry displacement+ tq..

Either boost the bitch or dont waste money on it and save for a gsr swap or ls swap and boost that. Its not that expensive

I have a d15b in my sedan. I'm saving up for boost but for right now, I'm enjoying the gas mileage it gets.

dont waste money on i/h/e etc. spending $1000 bucks for about 10-15hp gain is not worth that kinda money.

SAVE MONEY FOR THE BOOST!!!!!

Either a turbo or a swap. I put a GSR engine in my EG 4 door and I've never looked back.

Im going to be putting another D15 in my 94 just to get me by until I get my swap, would it be worth it to put a cam in it for a little extra power while the engnie is out? How much would that be for that engine anyways? Anything else I could do that would be worth the cost?
