Default What should I do about my clutch

sup guys I recently bought a new eg civic and the clutch is starting to go. Its a dx non-vtec motor and the clutch will be going within the next 6months or so. If you were in my position what would you do, I am also planning on doing a b18 swap by then too hopefully, should i just wait until it goes and put the motor in or what. Oh and the clutch isn't slipping at all but the release is really long. thanks for your help ~Jason~

I would save the money for the swap and just live with the way the clutch is for the next 6 months. If its not slipping then it should be fine...I think Good luck.

just wait till you get your complete swap b18...and put a new clutch in the B18 tranny before it goes into your car

I have the same car...and it's an EJ2 unless it's Japanese. I'm still running the stock clutch w/ 140,000mi and yeah, it's a long release, but I thought that's just the way it is.

haha....you can't predict when you're clutch is going to go because of the release point.

Probably just need to bleed it all out good and adjust the pedal from under the dash.

If it's not slipping, or chattering or going nuts, you'll be fine.

somehow flip yourself upside down first....lol

follow the clutch pedal up toward's where it attaches to the slave cylinder. You will see a 14mm nut with an adjustment bolt. Loosen the nut, and adjust the bolt (tighten or loosen) to get the proper amount of slack in the pedal before there is pressure.

Too tight and the clutch will not fully disengage.

Too loose and the clutch will not fully engage.

I usually adjust mine without 1/4 inch of pedal slop

LOL, exactly. If you're clutch was going out, your car would lag after you released the clutch pedal and accelerated.....
